IV.
DAY'S
PARLOR.
The
day
came
slowly,
till
five
o'clock,
Then
jumped
over
the
hills
Like
hidden
rubies,
or
the
light
A
sudden
musket
spills.
The
purple
couldn't
hold
the
east,
The
sunrise
shook
from
fold,
Like
pieces
of
topaz,
packed
a
night,
The
lady
just
unrolled.
The
happy
winds
played
their
music;
The
birds,
in
gentle
rows,
Arranged
themselves
around
their
prince
(The
wind
is
prince
of
those).
The
orchard
sparkled
like
a
jewel,
—
How
grand
it
was,
to
stay
As
a
guest
in
this
great
place,
The
parlor
of
the
day!
