V.
THE
SUN'S
WOOING.
The
sun
just
touched
the
morning;
The
morning,
happy
thing,
Thought
he
came
to
stay
forever,
And
life
would
be
all
spring.
She
felt
herself
much
greater,
—
A
raised,
airy
thing;
From
now
on,
what
holiday
for
her!
Meanwhile,
her
turning
king
Moved
slowly
along
the
orchards
His
proud,
glittering
hems,
Leaving
a
new
need,
—
The
want
of
crowns
and
gems!
The
morning
fluttered,
staggered,
Felt
for
her
crown,
—
Her
simple
forehead
Now
her
only
one.
