XV.
THE
LOST
JEWEL.
I
held
a
jewel
in
my
hand
And
went
to
sleep.
The
day
was
warm,
and
winds
were
dull;
I
thought:
"It
will
keep."
I
woke
and
scolded
my
honest
hand,
—
The
gem
was
gone;
And
now
an
amethyst
memory
Is
all
I
own.
