Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Speckled Band
Capítulo 8, Página 1
I
looked
at
my
notes
of
the
many
cases
I
studied
with
my
friend
Sherlock
Holmes.
Some
were
sad,
some
funny,
and
many
were
strange.
None
were
boring.
Holmes
worked
for
the
love
of
his
work,
not
for
money.
He
did
not
take
normal
cases.
One
case
was
very
strange.
It
was
about
the
Roylott
family
from
Stoke
Moran.
This
happened
when
I
first
worked
with
Holmes.
We
lived
together
on
Baker
Street.
I
promised
to
keep
it
secret,
but
now
the
lady
is
dead,
and
I
can
tell
the
story.
People
talk
about
Dr.
Grimesby
Roylott's
death,
and
the
truth
is
not
as
bad
as
the
rumors.
It
was
early
April
in
1883.
I
woke
up
and
saw
Sherlock
Holmes
by
my
bed.
He
was
dressed.
This
was
strange
because
he
usually
got
up
late.
The
clock
said
it
was
7:15.
I
was
surprised
and
a
little
annoyed
because
I
liked
my
routine.
"Sorry
to
wake
you,
Watson,"
he
said.
"But
everyone
is
up.
Mrs.
Hudson
woke
me,
and
now
I
wake
you."
"What
is
it?
A
fire?"
I
asked.
"No,
a
client.
A
young
lady
is
here.
She
is
very
excited
and
wants
to
see
me.
She
is
in
the
sitting-room.
When
young
ladies
visit
at
this
hour,
it
must
be
important.
If
it
is
an
interesting
case,
you
will
want
to
know.
So
I
called
you."
"I
would
not
miss
it
for
anything,"
I
said.
I
loved
to
follow
Holmes
and
watch
him
work.
He
solved
problems
quickly
and
with
logic.
I
dressed
fast
and
went
with
him
to
the
sitting-room.
A
lady
in
black,
with
a
veil,
stood
up
when
we
entered.
"Good
morning,
madam,"
Holmes
said
happily.
"I
am
Sherlock
Holmes.
This
is
my
friend,
Dr.
Watson.
You
can
talk
freely.
I
see
Mrs.
Hudson
lit
the
fire.
Please
sit
by
it.
I
will
get
you
hot
coffee.
You
are
shivering."
