end

over,

the

story
was

to

friend
Sherlock
Holmes
helped
solve
this
case,

I

story

about
him.
It
was
a
few
weeks
before
I
got
married.
I
still
lived
with
Holmes
in
Baker
Street.
One
day,
he
came
home
from
a
walk
and
found
a
letter
on
the
table.
I
stayed
inside
all
day
because
it
was
rainy
and
windy.
My
old
wound
from
the
Afghan
war
hurt
a
lot.
I
sat
with
my
body
in
one
chair
and
my
legs
on
another,
surrounded
by
newspapers.
I
was
tired
of
reading
and
looked
at
the
fancy
envelope
on
the
table,
wondering
who
sent
it
to
Holmes.
“Here
is
a
very
fancy
letter,”
I
said
when
he
came
in.
“Your
morning
letters
were
from
a
fish
seller
and
a
dock
worker,
right?”
“Yes,
my
letters
are
always
different,”
he
said
with
a
smile.
“The
simple
ones
are
usually
more
interesting.
This
looks
like
a
boring
social
invitation.”
He
opened
the
letter
and
read
it
quickly.
“Oh,
maybe
it
is
interesting
after
all.”
“Not
a
social
event,
then?”
“No,
it
is
work-related.”
