Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor
Capítulo 10, Página 27
"I
saw
it
in
a
paper,"
the
American
explained.
"It
had
the
name
and
church
but
not
where
she
lived."
"Then
we
talked
about
what
to
do.
Frank
wanted
to
be
open,
but
I
felt
ashamed.
I
wanted
to
disappear
and
never
see
those
people
again—maybe
just
send
a
line
to
my
father.
It
was
awful
to
think
of
all
those
lords
and
ladies
waiting
for
me.
So
Frank
took
my
wedding
clothes
and
made
a
bundle.
He
dropped
them
somewhere
so
no
one
could
find
them.
We
planned
to
go
to
Paris
tomorrow,
but
Mr.
Holmes
came
to
us
tonight.
I
do
not
know
how
he
found
us.
He
showed
us
we
were
wrong
to
be
secret.
He
offered
a
chance
to
talk
to
Lord
St.
Simon
alone,
so
we
came
here.
Robert,
you
have
heard
everything.
I
am
sorry
if
I
hurt
you,
and
I
hope
you
do
not
think
badly
of
me."
Lord
St.
Simon
still
stood
stiffly.
He
listened
with
a
frown
and
tight
lips
to
the
story.
"Excuse
me,"
he
said,
"but
I
do
not
usually
discuss
my
personal
affairs
like
this."
"Then
you
will
not
forgive
me?
You
will
not
shake
hands
before
I
go?"
"Oh,
certainly,
if
it
pleases
you."
He
put
out
his
hand
and
shook
hers
coldly.
"I
hoped,"
said
Holmes,
"you
would
join
us
for
a
friendly
supper."
"I
think
you
ask
too
much,"
replied
Lord
St.
Simon.
"I
may
have
to
accept
what
happened,
but
I
cannot
celebrate
it.
With
your
permission,
I
will
say
good-night."
He
bowed
to
us
all
and
left
the
room.
