Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Man with the Twisted Lip
Capítulo 6, Página 4
"I
am.
But
you're
wrong,
Watson.
I've
been
here
only
a
few
hours,
three
pipes,
four
pipes—I
forget.
But
I'll
go
home
with
you.
I
don't
want
to
scare
Kate.
Give
me
your
hand!
Is
there
a
cab?"
"Yes,
there's
one
waiting."
"Then
I'll
go
in
it.
But
I
owe
something.
Find
out
what
I
owe,
Watson.
I
can't
do
it
myself."
I
walked
past
the
sleeping
people,
holding
my
breath
to
avoid
the
smoke,
looking
for
the
manager.
As
I
passed
the
old
man
by
the
fire,
I
felt
a
tug
on
my
coat.
A
voice
whispered,
"Walk
past
me,
then
look
back."
I
looked
down.
It
was
the
old
man,
but
he
looked
the
same
as
before.
I
took
two
steps
and
looked
back.
I
was
shocked.
The
old
man
had
changed.
He
was
now
Sherlock
Holmes,
smiling
at
me.
He
signaled
me
to
come
closer,
then
turned
back,
looking
old
again.
"Holmes!"
I
whispered,
"What
are
you
doing
here?"
"Speak
as
low
as
you
can,"
he
said.
"I
have
very
good
ears.
If
you
can
send
away
that
friend
of
yours,
I
would
like
to
talk
with
you."
"I
have
a
cab
outside."
"Then
send
him
home
in
it.
You
can
trust
him;
he
is
too
tired
to
cause
trouble.
You
should
also
send
a
note
with
the
cab
driver
to
your
wife,
saying
you
are
with
me.
Wait
outside,
and
I
will
join
you
in
five
minutes."
