Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Man with the Twisted Lip
Capítulo 6, Página 5
It
was
hard
to
say
no
to
Sherlock
Holmes.
His
requests
were
always
clear
and
strong.
I
felt
that
once
Whitney
was
in
the
cab,
my
job
was
done.
I
was
happy
to
join
my
friend
in
another
adventure.
In
a
few
minutes,
I
wrote
my
note,
paid
Whitney’s
bill,
took
him
to
the
cab,
and
saw
him
leave.
Soon,
a
weak
figure
came
out
of
the
opium
den,
and
I
walked
down
the
street
with
Sherlock
Holmes.
For
two
streets,
he
walked
slowly
and
bent
over.
Then
he
looked
around,
stood
up
straight,
and
laughed
loudly.
"I
guess,
Watson,"
he
said,
"that
you
think
I
now
smoke
opium
too,
like
my
other
habits
you
have
talked
about."
"I
was
surprised
to
find
you
there."
"But
I
was
more
surprised
to
find
you."
"I
came
to
find
a
friend."
"And
I
came
to
find
an
enemy."
"An
enemy?"
"Yes,
one
of
my
natural
enemies,
or
I
should
say,
my
prey.
I
am
in
the
middle
of
a
very
interesting
case,
and
I
hoped
to
find
a
clue
in
those
people's
talks.
If
they
knew
me
there,
I
would
be
in
danger,
because
I
have
used
that
place
before,
and
the
man
who
runs
it
wants
revenge.
There
is
a
trap-door
at
the
back
of
that
building,
near
Paul’s
Wharf,
which
has
seen
many
strange
things."
