Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb
Capítulo 9, Página 5
“Ha!”
I
said.
“If
you
want
this
solved,
see
my
friend,
Mr.
Sherlock
Holmes,
before
going
to
the
police.”
“Oh,
I’ve
heard
of
him,”
said
my
visitor.
“I’d
be
glad
if
he
took
the
case,
though
I
must
involve
the
police
too.
Can
you
introduce
me
to
him?”
“I’ll
do
better.
I’ll
take
you
to
him
myself.”
“I’d
be
very
grateful.”
“We’ll
call
a
cab
and
go
together.
We’ll
be
just
in
time
for
breakfast
with
him.
Are
you
up
for
it?”
“Yes,
I
won’t
feel
better
until
I
tell
my
story.”
“Then
my
servant
will
call
a
cab,
and
I’ll
be
with
you
soon.”
I
ran
upstairs,
told
my
wife
briefly,
and
in
five
minutes,
I
was
in
a
cab,
heading
to
Baker
Street
with
my
new
friend.
Sherlock
Holmes
was
in
his
sitting-room,
wearing
his
dressing-gown.
He
read
the
newspaper
and
smoked
his
pipe.
The
pipe
was
made
from
bits
of
old
tobacco.
He
welcomed
us
warmly,
ordered
breakfast,
and
joined
us.
After
eating,
he
helped
our
new
friend
to
the
sofa,
put
a
pillow
under
his
head,
and
gave
him
some
brandy
and
water.
