Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
A Scandal in Bohemia
Capítulo 1, Página 25
Slowly
and
solemnly,
they
carried
him
into
Briony
Lodge
and
laid
him
in
the
main
room,
while
I
watched
from
my
spot
by
the
window.
The
lamps
were
on,
but
the
blinds
were
not
drawn,
so
I
could
see
Holmes
lying
on
the
couch.
I
don’t
know
if
he
felt
guilty
for
his
role,
but
I
felt
deeply
ashamed
as
I
watched
the
beautiful
woman
we
were
deceiving,
and
her
kindness
to
the
injured
man.
Yet,
it
would
be
a
betrayal
to
Holmes
if
I
backed
out
now.
I
steeled
myself
and
took
the
smoke-rocket
from
under
my
coat.
After
all,
I
thought,
we
are
not
harming
her,
only
stopping
her
from
harming
someone
else.
Holmes
sat
up
on
the
couch,
and
I
saw
him
gesture
like
he
needed
air.
A
maid
quickly
opened
the
window.
At
that
moment,
he
raised
his
hand,
and
I
threw
my
rocket
into
the
room,
shouting
“Fire!”
As
soon
as
I
said
it,
everyone,
both
well-dressed
and
not—gentlemen,
stable
workers,
and
maids—joined
in
shouting
“Fire!”
Thick
smoke
filled
the
room
and
poured
out
the
window.
I
saw
people
rushing
around,
and
a
moment
later,
I
heard
Holmes
inside
telling
them
it
was
a
false
alarm.
Slipping
through
the
crowd,
I
made
my
way
to
the
street
corner,
and
ten
minutes
later,
I
was
happy
to
find
my
friend’s
arm
in
mine
as
we
left
the
chaotic
scene.
He
walked
quickly
and
silently
for
a
few
minutes
until
we
turned
down
a
quiet
street
towards
the
Edgeware
Road.
“You
did
it
very
well,
Doctor,”
he
said.
“It
was
perfect.
Everything
went
right.”
“Do
you
have
the
photograph?”
“I
know
where
it
is.”
“How
did
you
find
out?”
“She
showed
me,
just
as
I
said
she
would.”
“I’m
still
confused.”
