Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Copper Beeches
Capítulo 12, Página 11
It
wasn't
long
before
Holmes's
prediction
came
true.
Two
weeks
passed,
and
I
often
thought
about
her,
wondering
what
strange
situation
she
had
entered.
The
high
salary,
odd
conditions,
and
light
duties
suggested
something
unusual.
Was
it
a
fad
or
a
plot?
Was
the
man
kind
or
a
villain?
I
couldn't
decide.
Holmes
often
sat
thinking
deeply,
but
when
I
mentioned
it,
he
dismissed
it
with
a
wave.
"Data!
I
need
more
information,"
he
said
impatiently.
Yet,
he
always
added
that
no
sister
of
his
should
accept
such
a
job.
The
telegram
came
late
one
night.
I
was
about
to
go
to
bed,
and
Holmes
was
starting
one
of
his
all-night
experiments.
He
opened
the
yellow
envelope,
read
the
message,
and
handed
it
to
me.
"Check
the
train
schedule
in
Bradshaw,"
he
said,
returning
to
his
studies.
The
message
was
short
and
urgent.
"Please
be
at
the
Black
Swan
Hotel
in
Winchester
by
midday
tomorrow,"
it
read.
"Do
come!
I
am
desperate."
"HUNTER."
"Will
you
come
with
me?"
Holmes
asked,
looking
up.
"I
would
like
to."
