Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Man with the Twisted Lip
Capítulo 6, Página 22
In
town,
the
earliest
risers
were
just
starting
to
look
sleepily
from
their
windows
as
we
drove
through
the
streets
on
the
Surrey
side.
We
crossed
the
river
over
Waterloo
Bridge
and
turned
sharply
into
Bow
Street.
Sherlock
Holmes
was
well-known
to
the
police,
and
the
constables
at
the
door
saluted
him.
One
held
the
horse's
head
while
the
other
led
us
inside.
"Who's
on
duty?"
asked
Holmes.
"Inspector
Bradstreet,
sir."
"Ah,
Bradstreet,
how
are
you?"
A
tall,
stout
officer
came
down
the
passage,
wearing
a
peaked
cap
and
jacket.
"I
need
a
word
with
you,
Bradstreet."
"Certainly,
Mr.
Holmes.
Come
into
my
office."
It
was
a
small
office
with
a
big
ledger
on
the
table
and
a
phone
on
the
wall.
The
inspector
sat
at
his
desk.
"What
can
I
do
for
you,
Mr.
Holmes?"
"I'm
here
about
that
beggar,
Boone,
who
was
involved
in
Mr.
Neville
St.
Clair's
disappearance."
