Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Speckled Band
Capítulo 8, Página 17
"It
seems
so."
"He’s
so
cunning.
I
never
feel
safe.
What
will
he
say
when
he
returns?"
"He
should
be
careful.
Someone
more
cunning
might
be
after
him.
Lock
yourself
away
tonight.
If
he’s
violent,
we’ll
take
you
to
your
aunt’s
in
Harrow.
Now,
let’s
use
our
time
well.
Please
show
us
the
rooms
we
need
to
examine."
The
building
was
made
of
grey
stone,
covered
with
lichen.
It
had
a
high
central
part
and
two
wings
that
curved
like
crab
claws.
In
one
wing,
the
windows
were
broken
and
covered
with
wooden
boards,
and
the
roof
had
partly
fallen
in.
The
central
part
was
in
a
bit
better
condition,
but
the
right-hand
wing
was
more
modern.
The
blinds
in
the
windows
and
the
blue
smoke
from
the
chimneys
showed
that
the
family
lived
there.
Some
scaffolding
was
against
the
end
wall,
and
the
stone-work
was
broken,
but
there
were
no
workers
around
when
we
visited.
Holmes
walked
slowly
on
the
rough
lawn,
looking
closely
at
the
windows.
"This
room
is
where
you
used
to
sleep,
the
middle
one
is
your
sister’s,
and
the
one
next
to
the
main
building
is
Dr.
Roylott’s
room?"
"Exactly.
But
now
I
sleep
in
the
middle
one."
"Because
of
the
repairs,
I
understand.
By
the
way,
the
end
wall
doesn’t
seem
to
need
urgent
repairs."
"There
was
no
need.
I
think
it
was
just
an
excuse
to
move
me
from
my
room."
