Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Boscombe Valley Mystery
Capítulo 4, Página 1
One
morning,
my
wife
and
I
were
having
breakfast
when
the
maid
brought
in
a
telegram.
It
was
from
Sherlock
Holmes
and
read
like
this:
“Do
you
have
a
couple
of
days
free?
I've
been
called
to
the
west
of
England
about
the
Boscombe
Valley
tragedy.
I'd
be
glad
if
you
could
join
me.
The
air
and
scenery
are
perfect.
Leave
Paddington
by
the
11:.”
“What
do
you
think,
dear?”
my
wife
asked,
looking
at
me.
“Will
you
go?”
“I'm
not
sure
what
to
say.
I
have
quite
a
long
list
of
things
to
do.”
“Anstruther
could
handle
your
work
for
you.
You've
been
looking
a
bit
pale
lately.
I
think
a
change
would
do
you
good,
and
you're
always
so
interested
in
Mr.
Sherlock
Holmes’
cases.”
“I
would
be
ungrateful
if
I
weren't,
considering
what
I
gained
from
one
of
them,”
I
replied.
“But
if
I'm
going
to
go,
I
need
to
pack
right
away,
as
I
have
only
half
an
hour.”
My
time
in
Afghanistan
had
at
least
made
me
a
quick
and
prepared
traveler.
My
needs
were
simple,
so
in
less
time
than
I
had
expected,
I
was
in
a
cab
with
my
suitcase,
heading
to
Paddington
Station.
Sherlock
Holmes
was
pacing
up
and
down
the
platform,
his
tall,
thin
figure
looking
even
taller
in
his
long
grey
traveling
cloak
and
fitted
cloth
cap.
“It's
really
good
of
you
to
come,
Watson,”
he
said.
“It
makes
a
big
difference
to
me,
having
someone
I
can
fully
trust
with
me.
Local
help
is
always
either
useless
or
biased.
If
you
keep
the
two
corner
seats,
I'll
get
the
tickets.”
