Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Speckled Band
Capítulo 8, Página 10
"You
have
been
cruelly
treated,"
said
Holmes.
The
lady
blushed
deeply
and
covered
her
injured
wrist.
"He
is
a
hard
man,"
she
said,
"and
perhaps
he
doesn't
know
his
own
strength."
There
was
a
long
silence,
during
which
Holmes
leaned
his
chin
on
his
hands
and
stared
into
the
crackling
fire.
"This
is
a
very
deep
business,"
he
said
at
last.
"There
are
many
details
I
need
to
know
before
deciding
our
course
of
action.
Yet
we
have
no
time
to
lose.
If
we
come
to
Stoke
Moran
today,
could
we
see
these
rooms
without
your
stepfather
knowing?"
"As
it
happens,
he
mentioned
going
to
town
today
on
some
important
business.
He
will
likely
be
away
all
day,
and
nothing
would
disturb
you.
We
have
a
housekeeper
now,
but
she
is
old
and
foolish,
and
I
could
easily
get
her
out
of
the
way."
"Excellent.
You
don't
mind
this
trip,
Watson?"
"Not
at
all."
"Then
we
shall
both
come.
What
will
you
do
yourself?"
