Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 14, Página 1
Tom
woke
up
in
the
morning.
He
looked
around
and
rubbed
his
eyes.
Then
he
knew
where
he
was.
It
was
early,
and
the
woods
were
quiet.
The
leaves
and
grass
had
dew
on
them.
The
fire
was
out,
and
smoke
went
up
in
the
air.
Joe
and
Huck
were
still
asleep.
A
bird
called
far
away
in
the
woods.
Another
bird
answered.
A
woodpecker
made
noise.
The
morning
got
brighter.
More
sounds
and
life
came.
Tom
watched
and
thought.
A
small
green
worm
crawled
on
a
leaf.
It
moved
up
and
down,
"sniffing"
the
air.
Tom
watched
it.
The
worm
came
to
him.
Tom
sat
very
still.
He
hoped
it
would
come
to
him.
It
went
on
his
leg.
Tom
was
happy.
He
thought
this
meant
he
would
get
new
clothes.
Ants
came
and
worked.
One
carried
a
big
dead
spider.
A
ladybug
climbed
a
grass
blade.
Tom
said,
"Lady-bug,
lady-bug,
fly
away
home."
The
ladybug
flew
away.
Tom
was
not
surprised.
A
tumblebug
rolled
a
ball.
Tom
touched
it,
and
it
pretended
to
be
dead.
Birds
sang
loudly
now.
A
catbird
sang
in
a
tree.
A
blue
jay
came
close.
A
squirrel
and
a
fox
squirrel
came
and
looked
at
the
boys.
They
had
not
seen
people
before.
The
sun
came
through
the
trees,
and
butterflies
flew
around.
Tom
woke
up
the
other
pirates.
They
ran
and
shouted.
Soon
they
were
in
the
water,
playing
and
laughing.
They
did
not
miss
the
village.
Their
raft
was
gone,
but
they
were
happy.
It
was
like
they
burned
a
bridge
to
their
old
life.
They
went
back
to
camp,
happy
and
hungry.
They
made
a
fire.
Huck
found
cold
water.
They
used
leaves
as
cups.
The
water
tasted
good.
Joe
cut
bacon
for
breakfast.
Tom
and
Huck
went
to
fish.
They
caught
fish
quickly.
Joe
did
not
wait
long.
They
cooked
the
fish
with
bacon.
It
tasted
so
good.
They
did
not
know
why.
They
did
not
think
about
how
fresh
fish
is
best.
After
breakfast,
they
rested.
Huck
smoked.
Then
they
went
to
explore
the
woods.
They
walked
over
logs
and
through
bushes.
They
saw
big
trees
with
grape-vines.
They
found
nice
places
with
grass
and
flowers.
They
liked
many
things
but
were
not
surprised.
The
island
was
three
miles
long.
It
was
close
to
the
shore.
They
swam
every
hour.
By
afternoon,
they
went
back
to
camp.
They
were
too
hungry
to
fish.
They
ate
cold
ham
and
rested
in
the
shade.
They
talked,
but
soon
they
were
quiet.
The
woods
were
silent.
They
started
to
feel
lonely.
They
thought
about
home.
They
missed
it
but
did
not
say
it.
They
heard
a
sound
far
away.
It
got
louder.
They
listened.
There
was
a
long
silence.
Then
they
heard
a
deep
boom.
"What
is
it?"
Joe
asked
quietly.
