Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 14, Página 4
"Boys,
I
know
who
drowned—it’s
us!"
They
felt
like
heroes.
They
were
important.
People
missed
them.
People
were
sad.
Everyone
talked
about
them.
All
the
boys
wanted
to
be
like
them.
Being
a
pirate
was
great.
As
it
got
dark,
the
ferryboat
left.
The
pirates
went
back
to
camp.
They
were
happy.
They
caught
fish,
cooked,
and
ate.
They
guessed
what
the
village
thought
about
them.
They
liked
the
idea.
But
when
night
came,
they
stopped
talking.
They
looked
at
the
fire.
They
thought
of
home.
Tom
and
Joe
felt
sad.
They
sighed.
Joe
asked
if
they
should
go
home—not
now,
but—
Tom
laughed
at
him!
Huck
joined
Tom.
Joe
quickly
said
he
was
joking.
He
was
glad
to
stay.
They
stopped
thinking
about
going
home.
As
night
got
deeper,
Huck
started
to
sleep.
Joe
did
too.
Tom
watched
them.
Then
he
got
up
quietly.
He
looked
for
something
in
the
grass.
He
found
two
pieces
of
bark.
He
wrote
on
them
with
his
"red
keel."
He
put
one
in
his
pocket
and
one
in
Joe’s
hat.
He
also
put
some
treasures
in
the
hat:
chalk,
a
ball,
fishhooks,
and
a
marble.
Then
he
walked
quietly
away.
When
he
was
far,
he
ran
to
the
sandbar.
