Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 22, Página 1
Tom
joined
a
group
called
Cadets
of
Temperance.
He
liked
their
red
clothes.
He
promised
not
to
smoke,
chew,
or
swear.
But
he
wanted
to
do
these
things
more
now.
He
only
stayed
because
he
liked
the
red
sash.
Fourth
of
July
was
coming,
but
he
gave
up
before
two
days.
He
hoped
for
a
big
funeral
for
Judge
Frazer.
The
Judge
was
very
sick,
and
Tom
wanted
to
wear
his
red
sash
there.
Tom
worried
about
the
Judge
for
three
days.
He
sometimes
practiced
wearing
his
sash.
But
the
Judge
got
better.
Tom
was
upset.
He
quit
the
group.
That
night,
the
Judge
got
sick
again
and
died.
Tom
decided
not
to
trust
people
like
that
again.
The
funeral
was
big.
The
Cadets
looked
great.
Tom
was
free
now.
He
could
smoke
and
swear,
but
he
didn’t
want
to.
The
desire
was
gone.
Tom
soon
felt
bored
with
his
vacation.
He
tried
to
write
a
diary.
Nothing
happened
for
three
days,
so
he
stopped.
A
minstrel
show
came
to
town.
It
was
exciting.
Tom
and
Joe
Harper
made
their
own
show.
They
were
happy
for
two
days.
The
Fourth
of
July
was
not
great.
It
rained
a
lot.
There
was
no
parade.
Mr.
Benton,
a
big
man,
was
there.
Tom
thought
he
would
be
very
tall.
But
he
was
not
tall
at
all.
A
circus
came.
The
boys
played
circus
for
three
days.
They
used
rag
tents.
Boys
paid
three
pins,
girls
paid
two.
Then
they
stopped
playing
circus.
A
phrenologist
and
a
mesmerizer
came.
They
left,
and
the
village
felt
boring
again.
