Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 3, Página 3
"Well,
Sid
doesn’t
bother
me
like
you
do.
You
would
always
take
sugar
if
I
didn’t
watch."
Aunt
Polly
went
to
the
kitchen.
Sid
reached
for
the
sugar.
He
dropped
the
bowl.
It
broke.
Tom
was
very
happy.
He
stayed
quiet.
He
wanted
Aunt
Polly
to
ask
who
broke
it.
Then
he
would
tell.
He
was
excited.
Aunt
Polly
came
back.
She
was
angry.
Tom
thought,
"Now
it’s
coming!"
But
then
he
was
on
the
floor!
Aunt
Polly
was
ready
to
hit
again.
Tom
shouted:
"Wait!
Why
are
you
hitting
me?
Sid
broke
it!"
Aunt
Polly
stopped.
Tom
hoped
she
would
feel
sorry
for
him.
But
she
said:
"Well,
you
didn’t
get
hit
for
nothing.
You
did
something
else
bad
when
I
wasn’t
looking."
Her
heart
felt
bad.
She
wanted
to
say
something
nice.
But
she
thought
it
would
mean
she
was
wrong.
So
she
stayed
quiet.
Tom
sat
in
a
corner
and
felt
sorry
for
himself.
He
thought
his
aunt
felt
bad
too.
He
liked
that.
He
did
not
want
to
show
he
knew.
He
imagined
he
was
very
sick.
His
aunt
would
cry
and
ask
for
his
forgiveness.
But
he
would
not
forgive.
He
thought
about
being
dead.
His
aunt
would
cry
and
pray
to
have
him
back.
But
he
would
be
cold
and
still.
He
felt
sad
and
happy
at
the
same
time.
He
did
not
want
anyone
to
cheer
him
up.
Then
his
cousin
Mary
came
in,
happy
to
be
home.
Tom
got
up
and
left
the
room.
Tom
walked
far
away.
He
wanted
to
be
alone.
He
saw
a
log
raft
on
the
river.
He
sat
on
it
and
looked
at
the
water.
He
wished
he
could
just
disappear.
Then
he
remembered
his
flower.
It
was
wilted.
It
made
him
feel
more
sad.
He
wondered
if
she
would
feel
sorry
for
him.
Would
she
hug
him?
Or
would
she
walk
away?
He
thought
about
this
again
and
again.
At
last,
he
got
up
and
walked
away
in
the
dark.
It
was
late.
Tom
walked
to
the
house
where
the
girl
he
liked
lived.
He
stopped
and
listened.
It
was
quiet.
A
candle
was
in
a
window.
Was
she
there?
He
climbed
the
fence
and
went
to
the
window.
He
lay
down
on
the
ground.
He
held
his
flower.
He
thought
he
would
die
there.
She
would
see
him
in
the
morning.
Would
she
cry
for
him?
