arms.
They

know
how
long
they
slept.
Tom
said
it
might
be
Sunday

Monday.
He
tried
to
talk
to
Becky,
but
she
was
too
sad.
Tom
said
they
must
be
missed
by
now.
He
said
he
would
shout.
Maybe
someone
would
hear.
He
shouted,
but
the
cave
made
it
sound
scary.
He
stopped.
Time
passed.
They
got
hungry
again.
They
ate
the
last
of
Tom’s
cake.
But
they
were
still
hungry.
Then
Tom
said:
"Shh!
Did
you
hear
that?"
They
listened.
It
sounded
like
a
far
shout.
Tom
shouted
back.
He
took
Becky’s
hand.
They
walked
to
the
sound.
They
stopped
and
listened
again.
The
sound
was
closer.
"It’s
them!"
said
Tom.
"They
are
coming!
Come
on,
Becky,
we
are
safe
now!"
They
were
very
happy.
But
they
walked
slowly.
There
were
holes
in
the
ground.
They
came
to
a
big
hole.
They
could
not
cross.
Tom
tried
to
reach
the
bottom,
but
he
could
not.
They
waited
for
the
searchers.
But
the
voices
got
quieter.
They
were
gone.
Tom
shouted
until
he
was
hoarse.
It
did
not
help.
He
talked
to
Becky.
They
waited,
but
no
one
came.
They
went
back
to
the
spring.
Time
was
slow.
They
slept
and
woke
up
very
hungry.
Tom
thought
it
was
Tuesday.
