Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 31, Página 9
Tom
had
an
idea.
They
could
look
in
the
side
passages.
It
was
better
than
waiting.
He
took
a
kite-line
from
his
pocket.
He
tied
it
to
a
rock.
He
and
Becky
walked.
Tom
was
in
front.
He
let
the
line
out
as
they
walked.
After
twenty
steps,
the
path
stopped.
Tom
got
down
and
felt
around.
Then
he
saw
a
hand
with
a
candle
near
a
rock.
Tom
shouted.
The
hand
moved.
It
was
Injun
Joe!
Tom
was
scared.
He
could
not
move.
Joe
ran
away.
Tom
was
happy
Joe
did
not
know
it
was
him.
The
cave
made
his
voice
sound
different.
Tom
was
very
scared.
He
wanted
to
go
back
to
the
spring.
He
did
not
tell
Becky
what
he
saw.
He
said
he
shouted
"for
luck."
The
children
were
very
hungry.
They
woke
up
and
felt
very
bad.
Tom
thought
it
was
Wednesday
or
Thursday.
Maybe
it
was
Friday
or
Saturday.
He
thought
no
one
was
looking
for
them
now.
He
wanted
to
find
another
way
out.
He
was
not
scared
of
Injun
Joe
anymore.
But
Becky
was
too
weak.
She
felt
very
sad
and
tired.
She
did
not
want
to
move.
She
said,
"I
will
stay
here
and
wait.
I
will
die
soon."
She
told
Tom
to
go
and
look.
She
asked
him
to
come
back
and
talk
to
her
often.
She
made
him
promise
to
hold
her
hand
when
she
died.
Tom
kissed
her.
He
was
sad
but
tried
to
look
brave.
He
said,
"I
will
find
help
or
a
way
out."
Then
he
took
the
kite-line.
He
crawled
down
a
passage
on
his
hands
and
knees.
He
was
very
hungry
and
scared.
