Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 5, Página 2
The
people
sat
down.
The
boy
in
the
story
did
not
like
the
prayer.
He
was
bored.
He
counted
the
details.
He
knew
the
prayer
well.
If
something
new
was
added,
he
noticed.
A
fly
landed
near
him.
It
cleaned
itself.
Tom
wanted
to
catch
it,
but
he
did
not.
He
thought
it
was
wrong
during
prayer.
When
the
prayer
ended,
he
caught
the
fly.
His
aunt
saw
him
and
made
him
let
it
go.
The
minister
started
his
sermon.
It
was
long
and
boring.
Many
people
got
sleepy.
Tom
counted
the
pages.
After
church,
he
knew
the
number
of
pages.
He
did
not
remember
the
sermon.
But
this
time,
he
liked
a
part.
The
minister
talked
about
the
future.
He
said
the
lion
and
lamb
would
be
together.
A
child
would
lead
them.
Tom
liked
this
idea.
He
wanted
to
be
that
child.
If
the
lion
was
tame.
Tom
felt
bored
again.
He
had
a
black
beetle
in
a
box.
It
was
big
with
strong
jaws.
Tom
called
it
a
"pinchbug."
The
beetle
bit
his
finger.
Tom
flicked
it
away,
and
it
fell
on
the
floor.
The
beetle
lay
on
its
back.
Tom
wanted
it,
but
it
was
too
far.
Other
people
saw
the
beetle
too.
A
small
dog
came
by.
The
dog
was
sad
and
bored.
It
saw
the
beetle
and
wagged
its
tail.
The
dog
sniffed
the
beetle
and
tried
to
bite
it.
The
beetle
pinched
the
dog's
chin.
The
dog
yelped
and
shook
its
head.
The
beetle
flew
away
and
landed
on
its
back
again.
People
laughed
quietly.
Tom
was
happy.
The
dog
felt
silly
and
angry.
It
tried
to
catch
the
beetle
again.
The
dog
jumped
around
and
snapped
at
it.
Then
it
got
bored
and
sat
on
the
beetle.
The
beetle
pinched
the
dog
hard.
The
dog
yelped
loudly
and
ran
around
the
church.
It
ran
up
and
down
the
aisles.
Finally,
the
dog
jumped
into
its
owner's
lap.
The
owner
threw
the
dog
out
the
window.
The
dog's
cries
faded
away.
Everyone
in
the
church
laughed
quietly.
The
sermon
stopped.
The
preacher
tried
to
continue,
but
people
kept
laughing.
Even
serious
words
made
people
giggle.
Everyone
felt
better
when
the
service
ended.
Tom
Sawyer
went
home
happy.
He
liked
church
when
something
fun
happened.
He
only
had
one
bad
thought.
He
was
okay
with
the
dog
playing
with
his
beetle,
but
he
did
not
like
that
the
dog
took
it
away.
