Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 10, Página 9
"Huck,
will
you
go
if
I
lead?"
"I
don't
want
to,
Tom.
What
if
it's
Injun
Joe?"
Tom
felt
scared.
But
soon
he
wanted
to
try
again,
and
the
boys
agreed
to
go.
They
would
run
away
if
the
snoring
stopped.
They
walked
quietly,
one
behind
the
other.
When
they
got
close,
Tom
stepped
on
a
stick.
It
snapped
loudly.
The
man
moaned
and
moved
a
little.
The
moonlight
showed
his
face.
It
was
Muff
Potter.
The
boys
were
very
scared
when
he
moved,
but
then
they
felt
better.
They
tiptoed
out
through
the
broken
boards.
They
stopped
a
little
way
off
to
talk.
Then
a
long,
sad
howl
filled
the
night
air
again!
They
turned
and
saw
a
strange
dog
near
Muff
Potter.
The
dog
faced
him
with
its
nose
up.
"Oh,
wow,
it’s
him!"
both
boys
said
at
once.
"Tom,
they
say
a
stray
dog
howled
at
Johnny
Miller’s
house
about
midnight
two
weeks
ago.
A
whippoorwill
landed
on
the
banisters
and
sang
that
same
night.
Nobody
is
dead
there
yet."
"I
know
that.
But
remember,
Gracie
Miller
fell
in
the
kitchen
fire
and
burned
herself
badly
the
next
Saturday."
"Yes,
but
she
didn’t
die.
And
she’s
getting
better,
too."
"All
right,
wait
and
see.
She’s
in
trouble,
just
like
Muff
Potter
is
in
trouble.
That’s
what
people
say,
Huck."
