Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 15, Página 3
He
went
back
to
the
ferry
landing,
found
no
one
there,
and
walked
onto
the
boat.
He
knew
it
was
empty
except
for
the
watchman,
who
slept
deeply.
He
untied
the
small
boat
at
the
back,
got
in,
and
rowed
upstream.
When
he
was
a
mile
above
the
village,
he
crossed
the
river,
working
hard.
He
landed
neatly
on
the
other
side,
as
he
knew
this
task
well.
He
thought
about
keeping
the
small
boat,
thinking
it
could
be
pirate
treasure,
but
he
knew
a
search
would
reveal
too
much.
So
he
stepped
ashore
and
went
into
the
woods.
He
sat
down
and
rested
for
a
long
time.
He
tried
hard
to
stay
awake.
Then
he
started
walking
carefully
towards
home.
The
night
was
almost
over.
It
was
daylight
when
he
reached
the
island
bar.
He
rested
again
until
the
sun
was
high
and
shining
on
the
river.
Then
he
jumped
into
the
water.
A
little
later,
he
stood
wet
at
the
camp's
entrance
and
heard
Joe
say:
"No,
Tom
is
true-blue,
Huck,
and
he
will
come
back.
He
won't
leave
us.
He
knows
that
leaving
would
be
bad
for
a
pirate,
and
Tom
is
too
proud
for
that.
He
is
up
to
something.
I
wonder
what?"
"Well,
the
stuff
is
ours,
right?"
"Almost,
but
not
yet,
Huck.
The
note
says
it
is
ours
if
he
isn't
back
for
breakfast."
"But
I
am
here!"
exclaimed
Tom,
with
a
dramatic
entrance
into
camp.
A
big
breakfast
of
bacon
and
fish
was
ready
soon.
As
the
boys
ate,
Tom
told
them
about
his
adventures.
He
made
the
story
exciting.
They
felt
like
heroes
when
he
finished.
Then
Tom
went
to
sleep
in
a
cool
spot
until
noon,
and
the
other
pirates
got
ready
to
fish
and
explore.
