Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 18, Página 10
"Yes."
"And
me?"
said
Sally
Rogers.
"Yes."
"And
me,
too?"
said
Susy
Harper.
"And
Joe?"
"Yes."
Everyone
asked
for
invitations
except
Tom
and
Amy.
Then
Tom
walked
away
with
Amy.
Becky's
lips
shook
and
tears
came
to
her
eyes;
she
hid
them
and
kept
talking,
but
the
fun
was
gone.
She
left
quickly
and
cried
alone.
Then
she
sat
quietly,
feeling
hurt,
until
the
bell
rang.
She
stood
up,
looking
angry,
and
said
she
knew
what
she
would
do.
At
recess,
Tom
kept
flirting
with
Amy,
feeling
happy.
He
looked
for
Becky
to
make
her
jealous.
He
saw
her
sitting
with
Alfred
Temple,
looking
at
a
picture
book.
They
were
so
close
and
focused
that
they
didn't
notice
anything
else.
Jealousy
burned
inside
Tom.
He
felt
foolish
for
not
making
up
with
Becky.
He
called
himself
names
and
wanted
to
cry.
Amy
talked
happily,
but
Tom
didn't
listen.
He
only
nodded
awkwardly
when
she
paused.
He
kept
going
to
the
back
of
the
schoolhouse
to
see
Becky
and
Alfred.
It
made
him
angry
to
think
Becky
didn't
notice
him.
But
she
did
see,
and
she
felt
happy
to
see
him
suffer
as
she
had.
Amy's
happy
talk
became
too
much.
Tom
hinted
he
had
things
to
do,
but
she
kept
talking.
Tom
thought,
"Oh,
when
will
she
leave
me
alone?"
Finally,
he
said
he
had
to
go,
and
she
said
she'd
be
around
after
school.
He
left
quickly,
annoyed
with
her.
