Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 20, Página 1
Aunt
Polly
kissed
Tom,
and
he
felt
happy
again.
He
went
to
school
and
saw
Becky
Thatcher
on
Meadow
Lane.
His
mood
changed
his
actions.
He
ran
to
her
and
said:
"I
was
really
mean
today,
Becky.
I'm
sorry.
I
won't
do
it
again.
Can
we
be
friends?"
Becky
stopped
and
looked
at
him
with
anger:
"Keep
away
from
me,
Mr.
Thomas
Sawyer.
I
won't
talk
to
you
again."
She
turned
her
head
and
walked
away.
Tom
was
shocked
and
didn't
say
"Who
cares,
Miss
Smarty?"
until
it
was
too
late.
He
was
angry.
He
walked
into
the
schoolyard,
wishing
she
was
a
boy
so
he
could
fight
her.
He
saw
her
again
and
said
something
mean.
She
said
something
mean
back,
and
they
were
both
angry.
Becky
was
so
upset,
she
couldn't
wait
for
school
to
start.
She
wanted
to
see
Tom
get
in
trouble
for
the
torn
spelling-book.
She
forgot
about
telling
on
Alfred
Temple
because
of
Tom's
mean
words.
Poor
Becky
didn't
know
trouble
was
coming
for
her
too.
The
teacher,
Mr.
Dobbins,
wanted
to
be
a
doctor,
but
he
was
just
a
schoolmaster.
He
had
a
special
book
he
read
when
no
one
was
looking.
He
kept
it
locked.
Every
student
wanted
to
see
it,
but
they
never
could.
Becky
saw
the
key
in
the
lock
when
she
passed
the
desk.
She
looked
around,
saw
no
one,
and
took
the
book.
The
title
was
"Professor
Somebody’s
Anatomy,"
but
she
didn't
understand
it,
so
she
turned
the
pages.
She
saw
a
picture
of
a
naked
human
figure.
Just
then,
Tom
walked
in
and
saw
the
picture.
Becky
tried
to
close
the
book
but
tore
the
page.
She
put
the
book
back,
locked
the
desk,
and
cried.
"Tom
Sawyer,
you
are
so
mean
to
sneak
up
and
look
at
what
I'm
seeing."
"How
could
I
know
you
were
looking
at
anything?"
