mom
won’t

it’s
okay.
She
just
wants
you
to
be
safe.
I
bet
she’d
say
yes
if
she
thought
of
it.”
The
idea
of
ice
cream
and
Tom’s
words
won.
They
decided
not
to
tell
anyone
about
their
plan.
Tom
thought
Huck
might
give
the
signal
that
night.
This
worried
him
a
little.
But
he
still
wanted
to
have
fun
at
Widow
Douglas’.
Why
should
he
miss
it?
The
signal
didn’t
come
last
night,
so
maybe
it
won’t
come
tonight.
The
fun
seemed
better
than
the
treasure.
Tom
decided
not
to
think
about
the
treasure
for
the
rest
of
the
day.
The
ferryboat
stopped
three
miles
from
town.
The
kids
got
off
and
ran
into
the
forest.
They
shouted
and
laughed.
They
played
until
they
were
tired
and
hungry.
Then
they
came
back
to
camp
and
ate
a
lot.
After
eating,
they
rested
and
talked
under
the
trees.
Soon,
someone
shouted:
