Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 3, Página 2
Then
he
ran
out
and
saw
Sid
going
up
the
stairs
outside.
Tom
picked
up
some
clods
of
dirt
and
threw
them
at
Sid.
The
clods
flew
like
a
storm.
Before
Aunt
Polly
could
stop
him,
some
clods
hit
Sid.
Tom
jumped
over
the
fence
and
was
gone.
There
was
a
gate,
but
Tom
was
in
a
hurry.
He
felt
happy
now
because
he
got
back
at
Sid
for
getting
him
in
trouble.
Tom
ran
around
the
block
and
went
into
a
muddy
alley.
It
was
near
his
aunt's
cow
stable.
He
got
away
from
any
danger
and
went
to
the
village
square.
There,
two
groups
of
boys
were
ready
to
play
war.
Tom
was
the
leader
of
one
group,
and
Joe
Harper,
his
best
friend,
led
the
other.
The
leaders
didn't
fight;
they
gave
orders.
Tom's
group
won
after
a
long
fight.
Then
they
counted
the
"dead,"
traded
"prisoners,"
and
planned
the
next
game.
After
that,
the
boys
marched
away,
and
Tom
went
home
alone.
As
Tom
passed
Jeff
Thatcher's
house,
he
saw
a
new
girl
in
the
garden.
She
was
lovely,
with
blue
eyes
and
yellow
hair.
She
wore
a
white
dress.
Tom
forgot
about
Amy
Lawrence,
who
he
thought
he
loved.
Amy
had
been
his
girlfriend
for
a
short
time.
But
now,
he
only
thought
about
this
new
girl.
Tom
watched
her
secretly.
When
she
saw
him,
he
acted
like
he
didn't
see
her.
He
tried
to
show
off
in
silly
ways
to
impress
her.
He
did
this
for
a
while,
but
then
he
saw
her
going
into
the
house.
Tom
leaned
on
the
fence,
sad
she
was
leaving.
She
stopped
at
the
steps,
then
went
to
the
door.
But
before
she
went
in,
she
threw
a
flower
over
the
fence.
Tom
ran
to
the
flower
and
stood
near
it.
He
pretended
to
look
down
the
street.
Then
he
picked
up
a
straw
and
tried
to
balance
it
on
his
nose.
As
he
moved,
he
got
closer
to
the
flower.
Finally,
he
stepped
on
it,
picked
it
up
with
his
toes,
and
hopped
away.
He
went
around
the
corner
to
hide
it
in
his
jacket,
close
to
his
heart.
He
came
back
and
stayed
by
the
fence
until
night.
He
hoped
she
would
see
him,
but
she
did
not
come
out
again.
Tom
hoped
she
watched
him
from
a
window.
At
last,
he
went
home,
dreaming
about
her.
During
supper,
Tom
was
very
happy.
His
aunt
wondered
why
he
was
so
cheerful.
She
scolded
him
for
throwing
clods
at
Sid,
but
Tom
didn't
care.
He
tried
to
take
sugar,
and
his
aunt
hit
his
hand.
He
said:
"Aunt,
you
don't
hit
Sid
when
he
takes
sugar."
