picnic.
They
walked
through

dark
cave

Cathedral."
Soon,
they
started
playing
hide-and-seek.
Tom
and
Becky
played
hard
until
they
got
tired.
Then
they
walked
down
a
winding
path,
holding
their
candles
up.
They
looked
at
names
and
dates
on
the
walls,
written
in
candle
smoke.
They
didn't
notice
when
they
reached
a
part
of
the
cave
with
no
writing.
They
wrote
their
names
in
smoke
and
moved
on.
Soon,
they
found
a
small
stream
of
water.
It
had
made
a
beautiful
stone
waterfall
over
time.
Tom
squeezed
behind
it
to
show
Becky.
He
saw
it
hid
a
steep
stairway.
He
wanted
to
explore
it.
Becky
came
when
Tom
called,
and
they
made
a
smoke
mark
to
find
their
way
back.
They
went
deeper
into
the
cave,
looking
for
new
things
to
tell
others.
They
found
a
big
room
with
many
shiny
stalactites
hanging
from
the
ceiling.
They
walked
around,
amazed,
then
left
through
one
of
the
many
passages.
Soon,
they
found
a
lovely
spring
with
crystal-covered
sides.
It
was
in
a
room
with
strange
pillars.
These
pillars
were
made
by
water
dripping
for
many
years.
Bats
were
hanging
from
the
ceiling.
The
lights
scared
them,
and
they
flew
around,
hitting
the
candles.
Tom
knew
this
was
dangerous.
He
grabbed
Becky's
hand
and
ran.
A
bat
hit
Becky's
candle,
and
it
went
out.
The
bats
chased
them,
but
they
ran
through
different
passages
until
they
lost
them.
Tom
found
an
underground
lake.
He
wanted
to
explore,
but
thought
they
should
rest
first.
The
quiet
felt
heavy,
and
Becky
said:
“I
didn’t
notice,
but
it
feels
like
a
long
time
since
I
heard
the
others.”
“You’re
right,
Becky.
We
are
far
below
them
now,
and
I
don’t
know
which
way
we
are.
We
can’t
hear
them
here.”
Becky
started
to
worry.
“How
long
have
we
been
here,
Tom?
We
should
go
back.”
“Yes,
I
think
we
should.
We
better.”
“Can
you
find
the
way,
Tom?
It
all
looks
mixed
up
to
me.”
