Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 9, Página 6
The
whispering
stopped
because
the
men
reached
the
grave
and
stood
close
to
the
boys’
hiding
place.
“Here
it
is,”
said
the
third
voice.
He
held
the
lantern
up
and
showed
young
Doctor
Robinson’s
face.
Potter
and
Injun
Joe
carried
a
handbarrow
with
a
rope
and
shovels.
They
put
it
down
and
started
to
dig.
The
doctor
placed
the
lantern
by
the
grave
and
sat
against
an
elm
tree.
He
was
so
close
the
boys
could
touch
him.
“Hurry,
men!”
he
said
quietly,
“the
moon
might
come
out
soon.”
They
grumbled
and
dug.
For
a
while,
only
the
sound
of
shovels
was
heard.
It
was
very
boring.
Finally,
a
shovel
hit
the
coffin.
Soon,
they
pulled
it
out.
They
opened
it
with
their
shovels,
took
out
the
body,
and
put
it
on
the
ground.
The
moon
came
out
and
showed
the
pale
face.
They
got
the
barrow
ready,
put
the
body
on
it,
covered
it
with
a
blanket,
and
tied
it
with
the
rope.
Potter
took
out
a
knife
and
cut
the
rope’s
end,
then
said:
“Now
it’s
ready,
Doctor,
and
you’ll
pay
more,
or
it
stays
here.”
“That’s
right!”
said
Injun
Joe.
“What
does
this
mean?”
said
the
doctor.
“I
paid
you
before,
and
I’ve
paid
enough.”
