Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 13, Página 8
“Who?”
asked
Huck.
“Why,
the
pirates.”
Huck
looked
at
his
own
clothes
sadly.
“I
guess
I’m
not
dressed
right
for
a
pirate,”
he
said,
with
regret
in
his
voice.
“But
I
don’t
have
anything
else.”
But
the
other
boys
told
him
the
fine
clothes
would
come
soon
enough
once
they
started
their
adventures.
They
explained
that
his
poor
clothes
were
fine
for
now,
even
though
rich
pirates
usually
start
with
a
good
wardrobe.
Slowly,
their
conversation
faded,
and
sleepiness
began
to
take
over.
The
pipe
fell
from
the
Red-Handed’s
fingers,
and
he
slept
peacefully.
The
Terror
of
the
Seas
and
the
Black
Avenger
of
the
Spanish
Main
had
more
trouble
falling
asleep.
They
said
their
prayers
quietly,
lying
down,
since
no
one
was
there
to
make
them
kneel
and
say
them
aloud.
They
thought
about
not
saying
them
at
all
but
were
afraid
it
might
bring
bad
luck.
Then
they
almost
fell
asleep,
but
their
conscience
kept
them
awake.
They
started
to
worry
they
had
done
wrong
by
running
away
and
stealing
meat.
They
tried
to
convince
themselves
it
was
okay
because
they
had
taken
sweets
and
apples
before.
But
their
conscience
didn’t
agree.
They
realized
taking
meat
was
stealing,
and
the
Bible
says
not
to
steal.
So
they
decided
that
while
they
were
pirates,
they
wouldn’t
steal
again.
After
that,
their
conscience
let
them
sleep,
and
these
strange
pirates
finally
fell
asleep
peacefully.
