Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 15, Página 3
He
made
his
way
back
to
the
ferry
landing,
found
no
one
around,
and
walked
confidently
onto
the
boat,
knowing
it
was
empty
except
for
a
watchman
who
always
slept
deeply.
He
untied
the
skiff
at
the
stern,
got
into
it,
and
soon
was
rowing
carefully
upstream.
When
he
had
rowed
a
mile
above
the
village,
he
started
crossing
and
rowed
strongly.
He
landed
neatly
on
the
other
side,
as
this
was
a
familiar
task
for
him.
He
thought
about
taking
the
skiff,
thinking
it
might
be
considered
a
ship
and
therefore
a
pirate's
prize,
but
he
knew
a
thorough
search
would
be
made
for
it,
which
could
lead
to
discoveries.
So
he
stepped
ashore
and
entered
the
woods.
He
sat
down
to
rest
for
a
while,
trying
hard
to
stay
awake.
Then
he
carefully
started
the
last
part
of
his
journey
home.
The
night
was
almost
over.
It
was
already
daylight
when
he
reached
the
island
bar.
He
rested
again
until
the
sun
was
high,
shining
beautifully
on
the
river.
Then
he
jumped
into
the
water.
A
little
later,
he
stood
at
the
camp's
entrance,
wet,
and
heard
Joe
say:
“No,
Tom
is
loyal,
Huck,
and
he’ll
come
back.
He
won’t
leave
us.
He
knows
it
would
be
shameful
for
a
pirate
to
do
that,
and
Tom
is
too
proud
for
such
a
thing.
He’s
up
to
something.
I
wonder
what
it
is?”
“Well,
the
stuff
is
ours
anyway,
right?”
“Almost,
but
not
yet,
Huck.
The
note
says
it’s
ours
if
he
isn’t
back
by
breakfast.”
“Which
I
am!”
shouted
Tom,
making
a
dramatic
entrance
into
the
camp.
Soon,
they
had
a
delicious
breakfast
of
bacon
and
fish.
As
they
ate,
Tom
told
them
about
his
adventures,
adding
some
extra
details.
They
all
felt
like
proud
heroes
when
he
finished.
Then
Tom
went
to
a
shady
spot
to
sleep
until
noon,
and
the
other
pirates
prepared
to
fish
and
explore.
