Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 26, Página 7
"Now's
our
chance—let's
go!"
Huck
said:
"I
can't—I’d
die
if
they
woke
up."
Tom
tried
to
persuade
him—Huck
hesitated.
Finally,
Tom
got
up
slowly
and
quietly,
starting
to
leave.
But
his
first
step
made
a
loud
creak
on
the
old
floor,
and
he
dropped
down,
scared.
He
didn't
try
again.
The
boys
lay
there,
counting
the
slow
minutes,
feeling
like
time
had
stopped
and
eternity
was
beginning;
they
were
relieved
to
see
the
sun
finally
setting.
One
snore
stopped.
Injun
Joe
sat
up,
looked
around—smiled
grimly
at
his
partner,
whose
head
was
drooping
on
his
knees—nudged
him
with
his
foot
and
said:
"Hey!
You're
the
watchman,
aren't
you?
It's
all
fine—nothing's
happened."
"Wow!
Was
I
sleeping?"
"A
little
bit.
It's
almost
time
to
get
moving,
partner.
What
should
we
do
with
the
little
money
we
have
left?"
