Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 34, Página 4
Tom
came
back,
struggling
with
the
weight
of
his
sacks,
and
Aunt
Polly
didn't
finish
her
sentence.
Tom
poured
the
pile
of
yellow
coins
onto
the
table
and
said:
"There—what
did
I
tell
you?
Half
of
it's
Huck's
and
half
of
it's
mine!"
The
sight
took
everyone's
breath
away.
They
all
stared,
no
one
spoke
for
a
moment.
Then
they
all
demanded
an
explanation.
Tom
said
he
could
give
it,
and
he
did.
The
story
was
long
but
full
of
interest.
Hardly
anyone
interrupted
its
flow.
When
he
finished,
Mr.
Jones
said:
"I
thought
I
had
a
little
surprise
planned
for
this
occasion,
but
it
doesn't
matter
now.
This
one
makes
mine
seem
very
small,
I
admit."
The
money
was
counted.
It
amounted
to
a
little
over
twelve
thousand
dollars.
It
was
more
than
anyone
there
had
ever
seen
at
one
time
before,
though
some
people
there
were
worth
much
more
in
property.
