Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 6, Página 5
The
groans
stopped,
and
the
pain
in
his
toe
disappeared.
Tom
felt
a
bit
silly
and
said:
“Aunt
Polly,
it
seemed
infected,
and
it
hurt
so
much
I
forgot
about
my
tooth.”
“Your
tooth,
really!
What’s
wrong
with
your
tooth?”
“One
of
them’s
loose,
and
it
hurts
a
lot.”
“Alright,
don’t
start
groaning
again.
Open
your
mouth.
Well—your
tooth
is
loose,
but
you’re
not
going
to
die
from
that.
Mary,
get
me
a
silk
thread
and
a
piece
of
fire
from
the
kitchen.”
Tom
said:
“Oh,
please,
auntie,
don’t
pull
it
out.
It
doesn’t
hurt
anymore.
I
swear
it
doesn’t.
Please
don’t,
auntie.
I
don’t
want
to
stay
home
from
school.”
“Oh,
you
don’t,
do
you?
So
all
this
fuss
was
because
you
thought
you’d
stay
home
from
school
and
go
fishing?
Tom,
Tom,
I
love
you
so
much,
and
you
keep
trying
to
break
my
heart
with
your
mischief.”
By
now,
the
tools
were
ready.
The
old
lady
tied
one
end
of
the
silk
thread
to
Tom’s
tooth
and
the
other
to
the
bedpost.
Then
she
held
the
piece
of
fire
close
to
Tom’s
face.
The
tooth
was
now
hanging
from
the
bedpost.
