Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 30, Página 1
As
the
first
light
of
dawn
appeared
on
Sunday
morning,
Huck
quietly
climbed
the
hill
and
knocked
gently
at
the
old
Welshman’s
door.
The
people
inside
were
asleep,
but
it
was
a
light
sleep
due
to
the
excitement
of
the
previous
night.
A
voice
called
from
a
window:
"Who’s
there?"
Huck’s
nervous
voice
replied
softly:
"Please
let
me
in!
It’s
only
Huck
Finn!"
"That’s
a
name
that
can
open
this
door
anytime,
lad!—and
welcome!"
These
words
were
unfamiliar
to
the
wandering
boy,
and
they
were
the
nicest
he
had
ever
heard.
He
couldn’t
remember
the
last
time
he
was
welcomed
like
this.
The
door
was
quickly
unlocked,
and
he
entered.
Huck
was
given
a
seat
while
the
old
man
and
his
two
tall
sons
got
dressed
quickly.
"Now,
my
boy,
I
hope
you’re
hungry,
because
breakfast
will
be
ready
as
soon
as
the
sun’s
up,
and
it’ll
be
a
hot
one,
too—don’t
worry
about
that!
We
hoped
you’d
come
and
stay
with
us
last
night."
"I
was
really
scared,"
said
Huck,
"so
I
ran.
I
bolted
when
the
guns
went
off,
and
I
didn’t
stop
for
three
miles.
I’ve
come
now
because
I
wanted
to
know
what
happened,
you
know;
and
I
came
before
daylight
because
I
didn’t
want
to
run
into
those
devils,
even
if
they
were
dead."
