Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 34, Página 2
"What
is
it?"
"Well,
old
Mr.
Jones
plans
to
surprise
everyone
here
tonight,
but
I
overheard
him
telling
auntie
about
it
in
secret.
I
guess
it’s
not
much
of
a
secret
now.
Everyone
knows—even
the
widow,
though
she
pretends
not
to.
Mr.
Jones
insisted
Huck
should
be
here—he
can’t
reveal
his
big
secret
without
Huck,
you
know!"
"What’s
the
secret
about,
Sid?"
"About
Huck
tracking
the
robbers
to
the
widow’s
house.
I
think
Mr.
Jones
wanted
to
make
a
big
deal
out
of
his
surprise,
but
I
bet
it’ll
fall
flat."
Sid
chuckled,
clearly
pleased
with
himself.
"Sid,
was
it
you
who
told?"
"Oh,
don’t
worry
about
who
it
was.
Someone
told—that’s
enough."
"Sid,
there’s
only
one
person
in
this
town
mean
enough
to
do
that,
and
that’s
you.
If
you
had
been
in
Huck’s
place,
you
would
have
sneaked
away
and
never
told
anyone
about
the
robbers.
You
only
do
mean
things,
and
you
can’t
stand
seeing
anyone
praised
for
doing
good.
There—no
thanks,
as
the
widow
says,"
and
Tom
cuffed
Sid’s
ears
and
pushed
him
to
the
door
with
a
few
kicks.
"Now
go
and
tell
auntie
if
you
dare—and
tomorrow
you’ll
be
in
trouble!"
