Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 7, Página 10
More
sobbing.
Tom
took
out
his
most
prized
possession,
a
brass
knob
from
the
top
of
an
andiron,
and
showed
it
to
her,
saying:
"Please,
Becky,
won't
you
take
it?"
She
knocked
it
to
the
floor.
Then
Tom
marched
out
of
the
house,
over
the
hills,
and
far
away,
deciding
not
to
return
to
school
that
day.
Soon,
Becky
began
to
worry.
She
ran
to
the
door;
he
was
nowhere
to
be
seen.
She
rushed
to
the
playground;
he
wasn't
there
either.
Then
she
called
out:
"Tom!
Come
back,
Tom!"
She
listened
carefully,
but
there
was
no
reply.
She
was
left
with
only
silence
and
loneliness.
So
she
sat
down
to
cry
again
and
blame
herself.
By
then,
the
other
students
started
to
return,
and
she
had
to
hide
her
tears
and
endure
a
long,
dreary
afternoon,
with
no
one
around
to
share
her
sorrow.
