El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 1, Página 21
Inside,
the
room
was
bright
with
light.
Tom
and
Miss
Baker
sat
at
each
end
of
the
couch.
She
read
aloud
to
him
from
a
magazine.
The
words
were
soft
and
soothing.
The
lamplight
shone
on
his
boots
and
her
hair.
She
turned
a
page
with
a
small
movement
of
her
arms.
When
we
came
in,
she
held
up
her
hand
to
keep
us
quiet.
“To
be
continued,”
she
said,
tossing
the
magazine
on
the
table,
“in
our
very
next
issue.”
She
moved
restlessly
and
stood
up.
“Ten
o’clock,”
she
said,
looking
at
the
ceiling.
“Time
for
this
good
girl
to
go
to
bed.”
“Jordan’s
going
to
play
in
the
tournament
tomorrow,”
said
Daisy,
“over
at
Westchester.”
