El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 6, Página 19
“Did
you
see
Daisy’s
face
when
that
girl
asked
her
to
put
her
under
a
cold
shower?”
Daisy
began
to
sing
with
the
music,
softly
and
rhythmically.
She
gave
each
word
a
new
meaning.
When
the
melody
rose,
her
voice
followed
sweetly,
like
a
contralto
voice,
and
each
change
added
a
bit
of
her
magic
to
the
air.
“Many
people
come
who
aren’t
invited,”
she
said
suddenly.
“That
girl
wasn’t
invited.
They
just
come
in,
and
he’s
too
polite
to
stop
them.”
“I’d
like
to
know
who
he
is
and
what
he
does,”
Tom
insisted.
“I
think
I’ll
find
out.”
“I
can
tell
you
now,”
she
answered.
“He
owned
some
drugstores,
a
lot
of
them.
He
built
them
himself.”
The
slow
limousine
came
up
the
drive.
