El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 6, Página 20
“Good
night,
Nick,”
said
Daisy.
Her
eyes
left
me
and
looked
at
the
lit
steps,
where
“Three
O’Clock
in
the
Morning,”
a
sad
little
waltz,
played
from
the
open
door.
There
was
something
romantic
in
Gatsby’s
party
that
was
missing
in
her
world.
What
was
in
that
song
calling
her
back
inside?
What
would
happen
in
the
night?
Maybe
an
amazing
guest
would
come,
someone
rare
and
wonderful,
a
young
girl
who,
with
one
look
at
Gatsby,
would
erase
those
five
years
of
love.
I
stayed
late
that
night.
Gatsby
asked
me
to
wait
until
he
was
free,
so
I
stayed
in
the
garden.
The
swimming
party
came
back
from
the
beach,
cold
but
happy,
and
the
lights
went
out
in
the
guestrooms.
When
he
finally
came
down,
his
skin
was
tight
on
his
face,
and
his
eyes
were
bright
and
tired.
“She
didn’t
like
it,”
he
said
right
away.
“Of
course
she
did.”
“She
didn’t
like
it,”
he
insisted.
“She
didn’t
have
a
good
time.”
