El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 7, Página 48
“I
found
out
what
your
‘drugstores’
were.”
He
turned
to
us
and
spoke
quickly.
“He
and
this
Wolfshiem
bought
many
small
drugstores
here
and
in
Chicago
and
sold
grain
alcohol.
That’s
one
of
his
tricks.
I
thought
he
was
a
bootlegger
the
first
time
I
saw
him,
and
I
was
right.”
“What
about
it?”
said
Gatsby
politely.
“I
guess
your
friend
Walter
Chase
wasn’t
too
proud
to
join
us.”
“And
you
left
him
in
a
bad
spot,
didn’t
you?
You
let
him
go
to
jail
for
a
month
in
New
Jersey.
God!
You
should
hear
Walter
talk
about
you.”
“He
came
to
us
with
no
money.
He
was
happy
to
earn
some,
old
sport.”
“Don’t
call
me
‘old
sport’!”
cried
Tom.
Gatsby
said
nothing.
“Walter
could
charge
you
with
breaking
the
law
too,
but
Wolfshiem
scared
him
into
silence.”
That
strange
but
familiar
look
returned
to
Gatsby’s
face.
