El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 8, Página 17
“She’s
a
deep
one,”
Wilson
said,
like
that
answered
everything.
“Ah-h-h—”
He
rocked
again,
and
Michaelis
twisted
the
leash
in
his
hand.
“Do
you
have
a
friend
I
can
call,
George?”
This
was
a
long
shot—Michaelis
thought
Wilson
had
no
friends.
His
wife
took
all
of
him.
He
felt
better
when
he
saw
the
room
change,
a
blue
light
by
the
window.
Dawn
was
near.
By
five,
it
was
bright
enough
to
turn
off
the
light.
Wilson’s
eyes
looked
out
at
the
ash-heaps.
Small
grey
clouds
moved
in
the
dawn
wind.
“I
spoke
to
her,”
he
muttered.
“I
told
her
she
might
fool
me
but
not
God.
I
took
her
to
the
window.”
He
got
up
and
went
to
the
window,
pressing
his
face
against
it.
“I
said,
‘God
knows
what
you’ve
been
doing.
You
may
fool
me,
but
not
God!’ ”
