El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 3, Página 15
"However,
I
don't
believe
it."
"Why
not?"
"I
don't
know,"
she
insisted.
"I
just
don't
think
he
went
there."
Her
tone
reminded
me
of
when
another
girl
said,
"I
think
he
killed
a
man,"
and
it
made
me
more
curious.
I
would
have
easily
believed
Gatsby
came
from
the
swamps
of
Louisiana
or
the
lower
East
Side
of
New
York.
That
made
sense.
But
young
men
didn't
just
appear
out
of
nowhere
and
buy
a
mansion
on
Long
Island
Sound—at
least,
I
thought
they
didn't.
"Anyway,
he
throws
big
parties,"
said
Jordan,
changing
the
topic.
"And
I
like
big
parties.
They're
so
private.
At
small
parties,
there's
no
privacy."
There
was
a
loud
boom
from
a
bass
drum,
and
the
orchestra
leader's
voice
rose
above
the
garden's
noise.
