El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 4, Página 3
“Good
morning,
old
sport.
You’re
having
lunch
with
me
today,
and
I
thought
we’d
ride
up
together.”
He
balanced
himself
on
the
dashboard
of
his
car
with
a
kind
of
movement
that
seemed
very
American.
It
came,
I
think,
from
not
doing
much
heavy
work
in
youth
and
from
our
sports.
This
quality
often
showed
through
his
formal
manner
as
restlessness.
He
was
never
still;
he
always
tapped
his
foot
or
opened
and
closed
his
hand
impatiently.
He
saw
me
admiring
his
car.
“It’s
nice,
isn’t
it,
old
sport?”
He
jumped
off
to
give
me
a
better
look.
“Haven’t
you
ever
seen
it
before?”
I
had
seen
it.
Everyone
had
seen
it.
It
was
a
rich
cream
color,
shiny
with
nickel,
and
had
many
hatboxes,
supper
boxes,
and
toolboxes.
It
was
covered
with
windshields
that
reflected
many
suns.
Sitting
behind
layers
of
glass
in
a
sort
of
green
leather
room,
we
started
to
town.
I
had
talked
with
him
maybe
six
times
in
the
past
month
and
found,
to
my
disappointment,
that
he
didn’t
have
much
to
say.
So
my
first
idea,
that
he
was
someone
important,
had
faded,
and
he
had
become
just
the
owner
of
a
fancy
house
next
door.
