El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 4, Página 4
Then
came
that
strange
ride.
We
hadn’t
reached
West
Egg
village
before
Gatsby
started
leaving
his
elegant
sentences
unfinished
and
slapping
his
knee
in
his
caramel-colored
suit.
“Look
here,
old
sport,”
he
suddenly
said,
“what
do
you
think
of
me?”
A
bit
surprised,
I
began
to
give
the
usual
vague
answers
that
question
deserves.
“Well,
I’m
going
to
tell
you
something
about
my
life,”
he
interrupted.
“I
don’t
want
you
to
get
the
wrong
idea
from
all
the
stories
you
hear.”
So
he
knew
about
the
strange
rumors
that
filled
conversations
in
his
halls.
“I’ll
tell
you
the
truth.”
His
right
hand
suddenly
seemed
to
ask
for
divine
punishment
to
wait.
“I
am
the
son
of
wealthy
people
in
the
Middle
West—all
dead
now.
I
grew
up
in
America
but
was
educated
at
Oxford
because
all
my
ancestors
studied
there
for
many
years.
It’s
a
family
tradition.”
