morning,
the
soldier
with
the
green
whiskers
led
the
Lion
to
the
great
Throne
Room
and
told
him
to
meet
Oz.
The
Lion
walked
through
the
door.
He
looked
around
and
saw
a
Ball
of
Fire.
It
was
very
bright
and
hot.
He
thought
Oz
was
on
fire.
He
moved
closer,
but
the
heat
burned
his
whiskers.
He
moved
back
to
the
door.
A
low
voice
came
from
the
Ball
of
Fire.
It
said
these
words:
"I
am
Oz,
the
Great
and
Terrible.
Who
are
you,
and
why
do
you
come
here?"
The
Lion
said,
"I
am
a
Cowardly
Lion.
I
am
scared
of
everything.
I
want
you
to
give
me
courage.
I
want
to
be
the
King
of
Beasts."
"Why
should
I
give
you
courage?"
asked
Oz.
