Emerald
City.
We
lost
our
way.”
The
King
said,
“We
will
carry
you.”
Two
Monkeys
took
Dorothy.
Others
took
the
Scarecrow,
the
Woodman,
and
the
Lion.
A
Monkey
took
Toto,
though
Toto
tried
to
bite
him.
The
Scarecrow
and
the
Tin
Woodman
were
scared
at
first.
They
remembered
the
Monkeys
were
mean
before.
But
they
saw
no
harm
now.
They
rode
in
the
air
and
looked
at
the
gardens
and
woods
below.
Dorothy
rode
between
two
big
Monkeys.
One
was
the
King.
They
made
a
chair
with
their
hands.
Dorothy
asked,
“Why
do
you
obey
the
Cap’s
charm?”
The
King
laughed.
“It
is
a
long
story,”
he
said.
“I
will
tell
you
on
our
journey.”
