El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 14, Página 6
Dorothy
said,
“I
want
to
hear
it.”
The
King
said,
“Once,
we
were
free.
We
lived
in
the
forest.
We
flew
from
tree
to
tree.
We
ate
nuts
and
fruit.
We
had
no
master.
We
liked
to
play
tricks.
We
pulled
tails
and
chased
birds.
We
threw
nuts
at
people.
We
were
happy.
This
was
before
Oz
ruled.
“A
princess
lived
in
the
North.
She
was
a
sorceress.
She
helped
people
with
magic.
Her
name
was
Gayelette.
She
lived
in
a
palace
of
ruby.
Everyone
loved
her.
But
she
had
no
one
to
love.
The
men
were
too
ugly
or
stupid.
She
found
a
boy.
He
was
handsome
and
wise.
She
wanted
him
as
her
husband.
She
took
him
to
her
palace.
She
used
magic
to
make
him
strong
and
good.
His
name
was
Quelala.
He
grew
to
be
the
best
man
in
the
land.
Gayelette
loved
him.
She
wanted
to
marry
him.
“My
grandfather
was
King
of
the
Winged
Monkeys.
He
loved
jokes.
Before
the
wedding,
he
saw
Quelala
by
the
river.
Quelala
wore
pink
silk
and
purple
velvet.
My
grandfather
wanted
to
play
a
joke.
The
Monkeys
took
Quelala.
They
flew
over
the
river
and
dropped
him
in.
“‘Swim,
fine
fellow,’
my
grandfather
said.
‘See
if
the
water
spots
your
clothes.’
Quelala
was
wise.
He
laughed
and
swam
to
shore.
But
Gayelette
saw
his
clothes
were
ruined.
“‘Swim
out,
my
fine
fellow,’
cried
my
grandfather,
‘and
see
if
the
water
has
spotted
your
clothes.’
Quelala
was
much
too
wise
not
to
swim,
and
he
was
not
in
the
least
spoiled
by
all
his
good
fortune.
He
laughed,
when
he
came
to
the
top
of
the
water,
and
swam
in
to
shore.
But
when
Gayelette
came
running
out
to
him
she
found
his
silks
and
velvet
all
ruined
by
the
river.
