El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 8, Página 1
The
travelers
woke
up
the
next
morning.
They
felt
happy
and
ready.
Dorothy
ate
peaches
and
plums
for
breakfast.
They
left
the
dark
forest
behind.
They
saw
a
sunny
land
ahead.
They
wanted
to
go
to
the
Emerald
City.
A
big
river
was
in
front
of
them.
The
raft
was
almost
ready.
The
Tin
Woodman
cut
more
logs.
He
put
them
together.
Dorothy
sat
in
the
middle
with
Toto.
The
Cowardly
Lion
got
on
the
raft.
It
moved
a
lot
because
he
was
heavy.
The
Scarecrow
and
the
Tin
Woodman
held
the
other
end.
They
had
long
poles
to
push
the
raft.
At
first,
they
moved
well.
But
in
the
middle
of
the
river,
the
current
was
strong.
It
took
the
raft
away
from
the
yellow
brick
road.
The
water
was
deep.
The
poles
could
not
touch
the
bottom.
“This
is
bad,”
said
the
Tin
Woodman.
“If
we
cannot
reach
land,
we
will
go
to
the
Wicked
Witch
of
the
West.
She
will
make
us
her
slaves.”
“I
will
not
get
brains,”
said
the
Scarecrow.
“I
will
not
get
courage,”
said
the
Cowardly
Lion.
